Newsday.com Photo Spread Displays the Beauty of the Shelburne Museum

NESTLED UPON A ROLLING HILL that leads into Shelburne, Vermont, the Shelburne Museum serves as a ficture of my childhood growing up in Vermont. The museum is open from May through October, and invetibly, there would be a least one class trip to the Shelburne Museum a year. Or at least that is what I remember.

I stumbled across this Newsday.com photo spread of the Shelburne Museum that shows off some of the museum finer points. I remember the folk art sculptures in the Stage Coach Inn part of the museum.

It’s been many years since I visited the museum. I might have to plan an excursion to the museum before it closes for the season.

Harry Potter Camp in Vermont

SOME LOCAL SCHOOL TEACHERS in Shelburne, Vermont created a Harry Potter themed day camp this summer. Their Harry Potter obsessed venture was one of NPR’s stories today, while The Burlington Free Press has a video on the camp. Beware – lots of nerdy looking kids in the video. I wish I could have attended day camp like this as a geeky little kid.
